The Cosmic Business of Stars and Lesser Great Things is a work-in-progress novel about the human counterparts of stars and their time on Earth. The story follows an ensemble of immortal characters and the different moments of their lives set in different times and locations, all to overlap and tie together in the end.

The chapter, One for Sorrow, takes place in Ancient Greece and follows one of the main characters, Corvus, through her birth as a celestial. She is put in an arranged marriage to a man who will meet and fall in love with her many times again in his future lives. En Passant is another life Corvus lives, where she meets him again during the Victorian Period.

Swan Song, on the other, hand follows Orion and his formative years during the American Frontier where he will eventually meet Cygnus and the other celestials.
